About

Hi, I'm Gregor Klingman.

I am a certified piano technician through the Piano Technician Academy, and have tuned and repaired all varieties of pianos. I am experienced with repairs of all kinds, from fixing stuck keys, drooping keys, ringing strings, muted strings, replacing strings, broken hammers, wobbly benches, and retrieving that pencil your kid dropped in the piano last year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose Klingman Piano Tuning?

I am not just a piano tuner, I am a certified piano technician from the Piano Technician Academy. I have the tools, knowledge, and integrity to not only get your piano to it's peak performance, but to always be courteous and transparent with my customers. The Golden Rule is essential to managing my business and life.

How much do you charge?

Please text or call me at (602) 540-3072 for pricing. I have a flat price basic tuning fee, no matter what kind of piano you have, or where you live. Basic repairs, pitch-raising, and cleaning require additional time and tools, and have additional fees.

How often should I have my piano tuned?

Once a year is recommended. If it's been 2+ years and you need a significant adjustment (called a pitch-raise), have physically moved your piano, or have exposed your piano to humidity, then it may require more frequent tuning.

Should I try to tune my piano on my own?

Tuning a piano requires special training, tools, and experience. Pianos have an average of 230 strings for their 88 keys, and over 10,000 moving parts working in harmony to function properly. People that try to tune their own pianos typically end up calling a technician moments later.

Some of my keys have problems, will they be expensive to fix?

Not usually. Most key repairs are minor and only require a little time to make the right adjustments. If your key is sticking, ringing, or making an odd sound, it can usually be fixed quickly with the right tools. However, some issues caused by broken or aging parts can require more extensive repairs.

How long will it take to have my piano tuned?

Tuning typically takes 2-4 hours depending on your needs. I never rush the process and strive for perfection with every piano.

Gina Hupton

This service was very thorough, friendly and flexible. He did some much needed cleaning and diagnostics, in addition to tuning. He offered to revisit with any concerns and was prepared to offer an estimate immediately for further optional repairs. Our antique upright piano has never sounded better!

Jonathan Lowsley

Gregor arrived on time, was very personable, and got right to work. My piano hadn't been tuned in a few years, and had recently been moved. It was significantly out of tune and along with tuning he needed to do a pitch raise. He was even able to fix a key that was a little bit sticky. Part of the tuning work was cleaning out the inside of the piano, and I appreciated how he cleaned up after himself, and left the area spotless. My Steinway sounds great, and I'll definitely be relying on him again for my tunings!
